Introduction

Mr. NPS Chawla is the Co-Founder and Joint Managing Partner of Aekom Legal. Apart from being a Fellow Member of the ICSI, he is a commerce and law graduate who has also completed his Masters in Law and Management. He earlier worked as an Associate Partner with the Corporate Team of Vaish Associates, Delhi, and has overall professional experience of around 20 years.

He is registered as an Insolvency Professional with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India. Mr. Chawla has been one of the youngest elected Chairmen of the Northern India Regional Council of the ICSI (2015) and is currently a Central Council Member of the ICSI for the term 2023–2026. He is also the Vice President of the NCLT & AT Bar Association.

Mr. Chawla has extensive experience in handling corporate litigation assignments, including insolvency matters, domestic and international commercial arbitrations, shareholder disputes, commercial suits, liquidations, and a wide range of corporate law matters. He also specialises in corporate restructuring matters including mergers, demergers, compromises, arrangements, reduction of capital, slump sale, minority squeezing, family settlements and succession planning.

He has appeared and argued matters before the Supreme Court, almost all High Courts of the country, NCLT, NCLAT, SEBI, SAT, FEMA Appellate Tribunal, DRT, DRAT, Civil Courts, Arbitral Tribunals, Sessions and Magistrate Courts across NCR.

Dealt with complex litigation assignments also involving application of foreign laws in matters before USA Courts.
